Building Self-Awareness for Leadership: JEC Leadership Development Program

The #LeadershipDevelopment Program with Jardine Engineering Company (JEC) has officially begun, marking the first of three sessions designed to strengthen leadership capabilities within the organization.

As a forward-thinking organization in the field of facilities management, JEC continues to invest in its #people and #futureleaders. This initiative reflects the leadership vision of Derek Chan, whose commitment to #peopledevelopment sets a strong tone for the organization’s growth.

We are deeply thankful for the opportunity made possible by Yvonne Chan, HR Director, and the invaluable support of Sindy Lai, whose coordination helped bring the program together.

Session 1: Self-Awareness for Career Growth

The first session focused on a critical foundation for leadership — self-awareness.

Through IDENTI3 Profiling enhanced with AI, participants explored their personality traits, behavioural tendencies, and leadership strengths. By understanding how #personality shapes decision-making, #communication, and career development, learners gained deeper insights into their personal and professional development paths.

The day was intentionally designed to be highly experiential, combining reflection, group interaction, and engaging activities. Participants actively explored their personalities and compared insights with their peers, creating many “aha” moments throughout the session.

The energy in the room was unmistakable—learners found the experience both exciting and eye-opening, discovering new perspectives about themselves and their roles within the team.

Looking Ahead

This first session lays the groundwork for the next two sessions, where participants will continue developing the leadership capabilities needed to thrive in a dynamic and fast-evolving industry.
